A Thematic Review of Safeguarding Adult Reviews

This webinar is for practitioners and managers whose roles and responsibilities include the safeguarding of adults at risk.
The webinar will draw on learning from 652 safeguarding adult reviews in England. It will identify learning about the process of commissioning, undertaking and completing reviews. It will present quantitative and qualitative findings about effective safeguarding practice and shortcomings. Participants will have an opportunity to consider the relevance of the findings of the review, in respect of adult safeguarding practice in Wales.
Facilitator: Professor Michael Preston-Shoot
Michael Preston-Shoot is Professor (Emeritus) Social Work at the University of Bedfordshire, England. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Michael’s publications, research and training have concentrated on law and social work practice.
His latest research has focused on adult safeguarding. He has also completed work for the Department of Health on governance of adult safeguarding and on effective practice with adults who self-neglect. Michael has considerable experience of being an independent chair of Safeguarding Adults Boards in England.
