The Right Help at the Right Time
National Safeguarding Week: 11th to 15th November 2024
The right help at the right time, is the theme of a wide-ranging programme taking place across Mid and West Wales for National Safeguarding Week, commencing 11th November 2024. The programme has been co-ordinated by CWMPAS and CYSUR, the Regional Safeguarding Board, and this year has been designed in response to some of the safeguarding themes and issues that have emerged across the region in the last year, including learning identified from child and adult practice reviews.
A highlight of the week includes a conference for multi-agency practitioners, taking place at the Medrus Centre, Aberystwyth University. This will include presentations and workshops from key note speakers and will include information on early intervention approaches, trauma recovery models, alongside input from service users and those with lived experience.
During the week, we will also host a variety of events and webinars that will seek to raise awareness and highlight issues that affect children and adults at risk. This includes a webinar covering myth busting in information sharing, in multi-agency safeguarding work. There will also be an information sharing and promotional session to include a preview of the new CYSUR Threshold and eligibility support document and the next phase of Multiagency Safeguarding Training. In addition, we will also be hosting webinars on thematic lessons from child practice reviews in Wales & a thematic review of safeguarding adult reviews. Alongside these events will be input from third sector and independent groups with events from SHINE, NSPCC and the Children’s Society.
A full programme is available to download, along with links to individual event pages where you'll also find resources that support this years key themes. For local events in your area please see the programme below.
We also invite you to follow us on social media - Twitter @CYSURCymru, on Facebook @CYSURCymru and Instagram @cysurcymru for safeguarding updates and information throughout the week.
